The norm.

I don't even want to talk about Friday. At first I wanted to watch all the news feeds and read all the articles, and I did. But I guess at some point I stopped trying to make sense. I don't have the facts nor the education to understand everything that took place so I do not hold an opinion. All I know is I'm grateful for my family and our normalcy.

My afternoon. My norm.....

Molly constructs tower.

 Molly's proud about tower.

Johnny destroys tower.

Johnny says sorry.

Johnny stuffs blocks into shirt.

The End.

Still sick...

Struggling to get through the morning today. Johnny has bronchitis, Molly's cold is still lingering and now I have a cold. This is the year of the never ending colds. We have been sick off and on since the beginning of October! It's really starting to put a damper on my Christmas spirit. I'm grateful that I had the sense to get shopping done early this year and we did finally set up our tree, but the house is a mess, my kids are grumpy and I'm exhausted, so I'm not feeling any holly jollyness around here.

I'm hoping we finally start feeling better by tomorrow and I can get my Christmas spirit on. I promise my next post will not only be wearing a bad awesome Christmas sweater, while dancing to Brenda Lee's Rockin' Around the Christmas tree and sipping on eggnog, but it will smell of fresh pine needles and sugar cookies. I'll get this family into the Christmas season even if it means taping my eye lids open and drinking all the caffeine I can get.

St. Nick

Sickness rocked our house this week. I hate when my kids are sick. They look so helpless and I feel so useless, especially with this cruddy cold virus. Molly started with a fever first. Mortin brought it down a bit but when it hadn't broke in 24 hours, we got a little concerned and decided to make a trip to Urgent Care Tuesday night.  Luckily her ears, throat and lungs were clear and she tested negative for the flu. So we left with instructions for fluids, motrin and plenty of rest. I was really praying Johnny wouldn't catch the virus, but sure enough he woke up Wednesday morning with a temp and runny nose.

The naps have been nice...

but, I'm very ready for things to return to "normal" around here.

I was so desperate on Wednesday to make them happy that after nap time I called in a little favor to St. Nick and asked him to stop by early this year.

Luckily he obliged.

And I had two mildly sick, very sleepy, yet extremely happy babies.

Their reactions were priceless and the distraction was great for me!
